[DTC-E1] WF7102: Seismogenic Source Models

Overview

This repository contains the Common Workflow Language (CWL) and RO-Crate metadata definition for WF7102, the Seismogenic Source Models workflow of DTC-E1, developed under the DT-GEO project.

The WF7102 workflow is responsible for updating and generating the Seismogenic Source Model (SSM) by integrating multiple geological datasets. It processes outputs from the Data Input Workflow (WF7101) and combines them with additional model data to create an updated representation of earthquake-generating sources used in seismic hazard modeling.

Workflow Structure

The workflow comprises a series of datasets (DT) and steps (ST) that progressively refine and update the Seismogenic Source Model.

1. Workflow Inputs

   • DT7104 – Seismogenic Source Model of the 2020 European Seismic Hazard Model (ESHM20).
   • ACTIVE_FAULT_DATASET – Output from WF7101 describing active fault geometries.
   • CRUSTAL_FAULT_MODEL – Validated crustal fault data.
   • SUBDUCTION_ZONES – Harmonized subduction zone dataset.

2. Processing Steps

   • ST710201: Initial data ingestion from DT7104 and input datasets.
   • ST710202: Preprocessing and format harmonization.
   • ST710203: Integration of active fault, crustal fault, and subduction zone models.
   • ST710204: Consistency and completeness checks across regions.
   • ST710205: Final model assembly and export of the updated Seismogenic Source Model.

3. Workflow Output

   • DT7108 – Updated Seismogenic Source Model, ready for downstream computational hazard workflows (WF7103).
