[DTC-E1] WF7104: Computational Risk
Version 1

Workflow Type: Common Workflow Language
Work-in-progress

Overview

This repository contains the Common Workflow Language (CWL) and RO-Crate metadata definition for WF7104, the Computational Risk workflow of DTC-E1, developed under the DT-GEO project.

The WF7104 workflow performs seismic risk computations, transforming seismic hazard results into quantifiable risk metrics such as loss maps and loss curves. It integrates outputs from the Computational Hazard Workflow (WF7103) with exposure and vulnerability datasets from the 2020 European Seismic Risk Model (ESRM20) to estimate potential economic and structural losses due to earthquakes.

Workflow Structure

The workflow builds on standardized datasets (DT) and computational steps (ST) to assess seismic risk across regions.

  1. Workflow Inputs

    • DT7105 – Input files for the 2020 European Seismic Risk Model (ESRM20).
    • DT7108Updated Seismogenic Source Model generated by WF7102 and used for consistency with hazard calculations.
  2. Processing Steps

    • ST710401: Preprocess exposure and vulnerability data.
    • ST710402: Integrate hazard results with exposure and vulnerability datasets.
    • ST710403: Run loss estimation simulations using OpenQuake.
    • ST710404: Post-process results into loss maps, loss curves, and statistical summaries.
  3. Workflow Output

    • DT7110Seismic Risk Results: Loss Maps and Loss Curves, suitable for visualization and decision-support systems.
